When the mighty Queensland State of Origin team kicks off tomorrow night in the first State of Origin game for the 2019 series, they will signal the start of the Pie of Origin 2019.

As part of the Pie of Origin contest, Beefy’s aims to beat Glenorie Bakery in NSW in their push to raise funds for charity.

“We’re raised $61,000 to date across all previous Pie of Origin contests,” says Beefy’s Mark Hobbs. “This year we’ve set ourselves the biggest and beefiest target yet – $35,000!”

They’re doing it with the backing of Origin Great Kerrod Walters, and all Queenslanders.

“It’s the fourth year Beefy’s has been involved and I couldn’t be prouder to be helping them again to raise money to help the sick kids in hospital,” says Kerrod.

“While it’s all about raising money for the kids, every Queenslander loves beating NSW and that’s why Beefy’s has set the biggest fundraising target yet.”

Beefy’s has brought back the BIG Queenslander Pie and is donating one dollar from every BIG Queenslander Pie purchased during the State of Origin series directly to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

People can also donate at the counter in store.

“So come on, Queensland — we can’t do it without you,” says Kerrod. “Get your hands on a BIG Queenslander Pie and back Queensland for the win.”

Beefy’s BIG Queenslander Pie is available from all Beefy’s Queensland locations – Aussie World, Buderim, Cannon Hill, Glasshouse, Gympie, Kawana, Mango Hill, Maroochydore and Ningi.

Remember, you won’t just be supporting Beefy’s in their quest to bring home the Pie of Origin title, you’ll be supporting the Queensland Children’s Hospital, the kids and their families. QUEENSLANDER!
