As we pull on our maroon and prepare to cheer Queensland to victory in State of Origin 2022, Beefy’s bakers are firing up the ovens ready for the Big Queenslander Pie to take centre stage and bring happiness to Queensland’s sick kids.

Beefy’s Big Queenslander Pie only makes an appearance once a year as part of Pie of Origin, and this year the aim is to make kids and their families smile.
“It’s our seventh year as part of Pie of Origin, the contest that sees us go up against NSW’s Glenorie Bakery to raise funds for our respective children’s hospitals,” says Beefy’s Mark Hobbs.

“This year, both Glenorie and Beefy’s are donating the funds to create kids’ zones and entertainment options within the hospitals. Spaces that will bring lots of happiness.”
2022 also happens to be Beefy’s 25th birthday year, so the fundraising bar has been set high with the aim being to raise $25,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“I’m confident Queensland can do it,” says Mark.

Beefy’s donates $1 from every Big Queenslander Pie and $5 from every Pie of Origin pack to the fundraiser.

Origin Great Kerrod Walters is a long-time supporter of the Pie of Origin, and always backs Queensland for the win.

“History has proven a Queensland team can do anything,” says Kerrod. “Anyone who visits Beefy’s and gets their hands on a Big Queenslander Pie is a true champion in my eyes.”
“It’s Queensland’s chance to bring happiness to the kids in hospital and to steal the win from NSW. Now that’s got to make everyone happy.”

“We can’t do it without the support of our loyal pie-loving customers,” says Mark. “We’ll be rolling out the maroon carpet and welcoming everyone in store. We can’t thank you enough.”

Beefy’s Big Queenslander Pie is available from all Beefy’s Queensland locations – Aussie World, Buderim, Glasshouse, Gympie, Kawana, Mango Hill (drive-thru), Maroochydore, Ningi (drive-thru) and Traveston.
