Family-owned South-east Queensland pie maker Beefy’s has won four gold medals in The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition 2016.

Their pies were judged this week in Melbourne by an elite team of judges from the baking industry. The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition is the industry’s most highly regarded event.

GOLD: Beefy’s Pie Flavoured Pie (Pie in a Pie)

This is the eighth gold medal for Beefy’s Signature Steak Pie in the history of The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, and it’s the second consecutive gold medal and title – Australia’s Best Gluten Free Pie — for Beefy’s Gluten Free Signature Steak Pie, making it a back-to-back win.

Beefy’s Pie Flavoured Pie is a brand new innovation – it’s a party size Beefy’s Sweet Chilli, Cheese and Bacon Pie inside a Beefy’s Signature Steak Pie. It clearly impressed the judges. It was made as a limited edition pie and released in August. Thanks to the win, Beefy’s is now considering making this pie more widely available for a limited time soon.

A gold medal was awarded to another new Beefy’s pie, the Beefy’s Gluten Free Steak, Bacon and Cheese Pie, further affirming that Beefy’s know how to bake great gluten free pastry products.

Beefy’s opened their first store at Aussie World in 1997. They now have nine stores in South East Queensland, and an online shop that home delivers Beefy’s Gluten Free Signature Steak Pies Australia wide. Their ability to consistently bake bigger, better, beefier meat pies year in year out has not only contributed to their award win, it’s contributed to their success as a company.
